Easter 2008

Family traditions
Growing up, Easter was a long drive in a pretty dress on the way to grandma and grandpa’s house on Scenic Drive. The tall grass and plentiful trees in their backyard sheltered hidden eggs from the casual eye. My brothers, sisters, and cousins scattered in search of the golden egg.

While times have changed, traditions remain. We have been celebrating Easter at my Aunt Marge’s for several years. Sometimes the house is packed full of family and neighbors; this year’s event was quite small. I can’t help but wonder what will happen to this tradition. Will someone carry it on? I don’t think my 30 x 50 backyard will suffice!
